I am a Specialist Tutor for students aged 5-16yrs and have 5 years’ experience working with children in both 1:1 and small-group settings. I have completed a Level 5 Diploma in Specialist Teaching for Literacy-Related Difficulties and aim for each child to develop their skills and confidence at their own pace.
Many children, with dyslexia especially, worry how their intelligence is perceived. As someone with dyslexia myself, I bring a personal understanding of the challenges they face, alongside the specialist training to support them effectively. I am passionate about helping children recognise their strengths, develop resilience, and gain the confidence to approach learning positively.
I create multi-sensory, interactive lessons that engage and motivate students. Using a structured, small step, evidence-based approach, I design a bespoke programme to provide:
-
Targeted support to improve reading and spelling accuracy
-
Development of active reading strategies to improve comprehension
-
Personalised strategies to support memory and learning
Every child is different, so I begin with an assessment of the student’s literacy skills and learning needs. This helps me identify their strengths, understand the areas where they need support, and develop an individualised plan tailored to their needs.
